A marathon editing session today, and Florrie and I finished the copy for the tree tour guide--literally an hour later, I got the email : we have received $1000 grant from the Awesome Foundation! This will go a long way toward covering design and printing expenses. We are so excited and grateful for the community support for this project. What a boost to our morale!
Dave Lefcourt, the Cambridge City Arborist, is ready to order the tree labels. We re just waiting for definitive identification of the species of 3 of the tour trees.
Our next steps are to send the copy around to a few local tree experts and to create a mock-up of the finished project that includes some of the artwork. Then we plan to expand our fundraising efforts to local businesses to raise the additional cost for a graphic designer. A list of sponsors and contributors will be included in the finished booklet. We are aiming for a first printing of 300-500 copies.
We will be offering several in-person tours of the trees this fall.
Thank you, Awesome Foundation!
